形態特徵

An evergreen tree, usually clothed with red-brown hairs at first.
Leaves long-petiolate, coriaceous, oblong or elliptic, 13–25 cm long, 4–5.5 cm wide, coarsely serrate, glabrous on both surfaces, the midrib conspicuously raised beneath, the primary veins about 12 per side.
Flowers numerous, in terminal panicles, rusty-tomentose; calyx-lobes lanceolate, rusty-tomentose outside; petals white, oblanceolate, the apex emarginate; ovary inferior, the styles 3.
Pomes ellipsoid or globose, up to 2–2.5 cm long, tomentose, crowned with persistent calyx-lobes.

分布

台灣 : in broad-Leaved forests at altitudes lower than 1,500 m throughout the island.
